Useful information Description of the field of study, aim of the programme:
Postgraduate studies in the field of: Pedagogical preparation enable students to obtain pedagogical qualifications to work as teachers in primary and secondary schools and educational institutions, which consist of psychological, pedagogical and didactic preparation, as well as the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the field of pedagogy, psychology, the basics of didactics, including methodology, voice emission and pedagogical (professional) placement.The aim of the programme is to prepare graduates for the comprehensive implementation of teaching, educational and care tasks in schools and other educational institutions. The education process is focused on developing teachers' competences that enable them to organise and conduct classes in a substantive and methodical manner through the appropriate selection of aims, objectives, methods and teaching aids, including digital tools, raising awareness of the need to update and integrate acquired psychological and pedagogical knowledge with other fields of knowledge, and, in addition, the responsible performance of educational functions, taking into account the specific needs of pupils and students, the individualisation of activities and professional ethics.
Postgraduate education is conducted in accordance with the Regulation of 25 July 2019 of the Minister of Science and Higher Education on the standard of education preparing for the teaching profession (Journal of Laws of 2019, item 1450, as amended) issued on the basis of Article 68, para. 3, item 4 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 1668, as amended).
Graduate profile, qualifications obtained by postgraduate students: Graduates of postgraduate studies in the field of Pedagogical Preparation have comprehensive psychological and pedagogical training, as well as methodological, substantive, social and communication skills. They have the knowledge and skills to understand the processes of development, upbringing and teaching – learning. An integral part of the programme is a 150-hour pedagogical placement carried out in accordance with the plan in educational institutions and schools.
Graduates obtain the teaching qualifications necessary to work as teachers in schools and educational institutions, in accordance with their field of study, which provides them with the substantive preparation to teach a subject or conduct classes.
Requirements for completion of postgraduate studies:
- achieving the learning outcomes specified in the study programme;
- obtaining 42 ECTS credits specified in the study programme;
- completing the required practical placement;
- passing the final examination covering the subjects taught as part of the study programme.
Target audience of postgraduate studies:
The target audience of the studies are persons who hold a university degree and do not have pedagogical training, but are interested in working as teachers in schools and educational institutions, in accordance with the field of study completed, which provides substantive preparation for teaching a subject or conducting classes:- graduates of first-cycle and second-cycle studies or long-cycle studies in a field of study whose programme defined learning outcomes in terms of knowledge and skills covering the content specified in the core curriculum for general education in the subject taught or the content of the classes conducted;
- graduates of second-cycle studies commenced before the 2019/2020 academic year in a field of study whose programme defined learning outcomes in terms of knowledge and skills covering the content specified in the core curriculum for general education in the subject taught or the content of the classes conducted;
- foreigners holding a higher education diploma from Poland or a higher education diploma from abroad that has been recognised or nostrified.
